Stress and Fertility – or rather, Infertility

Have you ever noticed how couples who struggle to get pregnant for a long time, who give up and adopt, soon are blessed with a child of their own?

The reason behind this is all the stress hormones our body produces when we are so anxious. Adrenalin and Cortisol – our stress hormones (Glucocorticoids) produced by the Adrenal gland suppress our reproductive system as it is not important for immediate survival. We are highly unlikely to be mating while fighting for our lives.

Stress Response Blocks Reproductive System

A severe shock can even stop a woman’s cycle completely for a few months. It is because the reproductive system is blocked at every stage: Cortisol Releasing Hormone (CRH) blocks the Gonadropin Releasing Hormone (GnRH) in the pituitary gland; Glucocorticoids (Adrenalin, Noradrenalin and Cortisol) block the Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and Luteinising hormone (LH) responsible for growing the eggs in the ovaries. They block Testosterone, Estrogen and Progesterone production and use up the raw materials needed for these hormones. And finally, they also render the target tissues of gonad steroids resistant to these hormones. With all this restriction behind the scene how could we possibly expect to be expectant?

There are Other Reasons for Infertility

Broccoli, cauliflower, corn, lettuce, grapes, apples, bread, tomatoes, bananas. There are other reasons for infertility including nutrient deficiences.

Of course, there are other reasons for fertility problems, all of which are stressors for our bodies: hormonal imbalances, toxicity, and nutrient deficiencies.

More about Nutritional Deficiencies

There are several studies showing that the decrease of nutrient content in vegetables is directly proportional with the fertility in men. For example, we would need to eat nearly ten times as much tomato to get the same nutritional value as one tomato had back in the fifties. Mass production, forced growth, genetically modified crops can never produce the natural nutrient content in our foods to nourish our bodies. Read on decorative Element
